The Bunyip Community Solar Farm is a prosed community owned 1 MW solar farm with a 2 MWh battery, 1 hour East of Melbourne in Victoria. It is the result of the collaboration between the Bunyip Renewables Action Group (BRAG), Yarra Valley Community Power Hub (YV-CPHub) and Komo Energy. Early feasibility works were funded by the Yarra Valley Community Power Hub utilising grant funding from Sustainability Victoria.
The proposed community solar farm is to be sited on currently unused land owned by the Bunyip Agricultural Society. An option for lease was signed in December 2022.
The project is currently at development phase, funded and managed by Komo Energy. If planning and grid connection approval can be gained, Komo Energy will work with the community to procure construction contractors and raise finance to deliver the solar farm.
