The 1.5 MW Grong Grong Solar Farm is one of Komo Energy’s pioneering projects, located in the rural town of Grong Grong in the NSW Riverina. The Grong Grong Solar Farm is battery ready and host to Australia’s first large-scale solar garden: the Haystacks Solar Garden. Komo Energy has seen the project through the procurement, development and financing process, including a successful crowd-equity raise. Construction is due to commence in mid-2023, with Komo Energy overseeing the construction and asset management process.
In 2022, Grong Grong Solar Farm conducted a successful crowd-equity campaign, creating Australia’s first crowd-funded solar farm (check out the campaign video below). With the support of the Komo Energy team, Grong Grong Solar Farm raised, in just 8 days, its maximum target of $750k! Crowd-equity has allowed Komo Energy to provide everyday Australians with the opportunity to invest directly into renewables and become a part of the solution.
